Whether it is a special piece for your home or a personalised gift, I would be happy to discuss your needs and where possible, work to an agreed budget and time frame, all of which must be agreed upon before a commission is commenced to ensure both party's expectations are met.

Commissioned art can be created in oils, pastels or graphite. Oil paintings can be textured, smooth or a combination of both, applied with a palette knife or brush alla prima, or in traditional, translucent layers with a smooth glossy surface. Which style I create, usually depends on the subject being painted or whether you prefer a contemporary or traditional feel. Pastel and graphite art is traditional in it's application which results in realistic pieces. All mediums are precisely and intricately applied resulting in highly detailed art.

Photographs are sometimes necessary for commissioned pieces depending on your subject or vision. The Colour In Flight Series do not require photographs. If there is a specific dominant colour you prefer, or a specific butterfly, just let me know and I will create a few digital mock-ups to your specifications for you to choose from. Commissions can be in any size as all canvas' are custom made to size.

Commissions require a 30% non-refundable deposit of the total amount, including framing and/or delivery if applicable. Please read Terms & Conditions for more information.

During the creation process, you will be kept up to date with progress photos via email. Once the artwork is completed and you are 100% happy with the finished piece, the remainder of the total amount will need to be finalised before the artwork can be delivered.

Depending on the size, medium used, style and subject, a commissioned piece can take anywhere between 1-5 months to complete.
