Pastel :: 20 x 20cm :: 8″ x 8″

After I read about how Shirley (a 91 year great grandmother) was devastated after the loss of her precious “little mate” Jade, I contacted her daughter and asked if she could send me some photos of the this sweet little dog so I could gift a portrait to her. Shirley received this portrait for Mother’s Day.

Unfortunately, Dawn could only find two photos of Jade, both of which were very small, very dark and blurred. The other photo was unusable in any way so I had to make do with this one. The trickiest part of this portrait was Jade’s eyes as I couldn’t see them at all, no matter how much I played around with it in Photoshop. Most of the time, it made it worse! This portrait was basically a guessing game and rather than paint what I saw, I painted what I felt, which in the end, turned out perfect (or so I was told).

Shirley was so happy when she received Jade’s portrait that it made my day! Bless her!

Jade was with a soft gold, timber frame; double matboards; silver name plaque and UltraVue UV70 non-reflective glass.

Framed Size: 40 x 38cm :: 16″ x  15″

Client Feedback

It’s arrived Susanna, Mum cried and she is over the moon. She can feel the spirit of Jade in it. She said it was wrapped so beautifully and carefully with so much love. She wants to express her gratitude.  xoxo
