Pastel :: 31 x 27cm :: 12″ x 11″

Bonnie was commissioned by three sisters as a Father’s Day gift for their Dad who missed his little girl terribly after she had sadly crossed the rainbow bridge. Their father was moving into a retirement village and they wanted him to be able to take his precious Bonnie with him as a beautiful reminder of his loyal companion.

I was supplied with two reference photos for Bonnie’s portrait as the girls couldn’t ask their Dad for any photos in case they ruined the surprise, so a combination of the two photos were used, one for the pose and the other for Bonnie’s colouring (but darker). Neither photo was ideal as the contrast from the lighting in photo one was too harsh which created too much contrast where it hid most of the detail, and photo two was not exactly accurate in the colouring.

Bonnie was framed with a chocolate stained distressed timber moulding, double mount/matboard, gold name plaque and UltraVue non-reflective glass.

Framed Size: 45 x 52cm :: 18″ x  21″

Client Feedback

Hi Susanna,
I have just arrived home and yes Bonnie has arrived safely. She is even more beautiful in ‘real life’ and I can’t wait to see dad’s reaction when we give her to him. Thank you so, so much for everything – the consultations, progress photos, framing, careful packaging and, of course, this gorgeous portrait. You have a wonderful talent.
